There are lots of different factors involved in picking a niche, but we’ll try and help clear those muddy waters in this article.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u2026that\u2019s our tongue-in-cheek nickname for the less-profitable niches.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Let\u2019s say you\u2019re leasing out two websites for $500\/month each.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n One is for a roofer, and the other is for someone who grooms dogs.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n According to HomeAdvisor, the average roof job is worth between $5,347 and $10,633.<\/span><\/p>\n According to Angieslist, the average dog grooming costs between $30 and $90.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n So just one job for a roofer can pay for the lease of your site for an entire year.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n But the Poodle fluffer would need to fluff 6-17 dogs before they even break even\u2026 and that\u2019s <\/span>every month<\/span><\/i>!<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n So when we say avoid the Poodle Fluffers, we mean it in the nicest possible way for both your sake, and theirs.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n It\u2019s easy to look at niches and go with what you think will be most profitable.<\/span><\/p>\n The danger of this is that creating\/sourcing content and images can be boring and feel like a hard slog (unless you purchase one of our Niche Packs).<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Instead \u2013 particularly in the early days of your Rank \u2018n\u2019 Rent career \u2013 we recommend you choose a niche that you already know <\/span>something<\/span><\/i> about, or at least have an interest in.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Perhaps you have an interest in Home Improvement, or maybe you had a major remodeling job done on your home?<\/span><\/p>\n Maybe you\u2019ve had \u2013 or supported someone through \u2013 a surgical procedure?<\/span><\/p>\n Maybe your parents were Lawyers and you grew up listening to the lingo?<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n So as we say; if in doubt, go with what you know or interests you.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n And don\u2019t forget a lot of these services offer emergency services as well, which often cost more.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Maybe you\u2019ve had some treatments yourself or know someone who has?<\/span><\/p>\n That can be a great starting point as you\u2019ll be able to come from a position of some knowledge.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n *check the correct term used in each state you target.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Highly regulated industries\/niches \u2013 such as Adult, Alcohol, Financial, Insurance, Tobacco, Drugs, Gambling, Firearms, and similar regulated industries are more likely to be on Google\u2019s \u201cnaughty list.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Therefore, they can be extremely challenging to rank (in most cases).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Yes, even AmaLuv, DigiMo, and Sparkzio may not be able to crack Google\u2019s naughty niches.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n If you are targeting a regulated niche, adjust your expectations accordingly.<\/span><\/p>\n The good news is that once you choose a Niche, you\u2019re not married to it.<\/span><\/p>\n You may find that a Roofer you dealt with put you onto his Cousin who is a Specialist who fixes Termite-damage.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n You may even find that the whole Home Improvement category stresses you out and you switch completely to Medical or Legal.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The point is, there\u2019s really only one true way to find your Niche, and that\u2019s by taking action and getting started on <\/span>something<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Action is the only answer.<\/span><\/p>\n You\u2019ve got this.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Remember; Keep on ROCKIN!<\/span><\/p>\nFirst off, let\u2019s talk about \u201cPoodle Fluffers\u201d\u2026<\/span><\/h2>\n
