{"id":7292,"date":"2019-02-08T19:58:44","date_gmt":"2019-02-08T19:58:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.styledeals.co.uk\/blog\/liverpool-announce-world-record-106m-net-profit\/"},"modified":"2019-02-08T19:58:44","modified_gmt":"2019-02-08T19:58:44","slug":"liverpool-announce-world-record-106m-net-profit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.styledeals.co.uk\/blog\/liverpool-announce-world-record-106m-net-profit\/","title":{"rendered":"Liverpool announce world record \u00a3106m net profit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div id=\"story-body\">\n<figure class=\"sp-media-asset sp-media-asset--lead\"><figcaption class=\"sp-media-asset__caption gel-brevier \">Philippe Coutinho was sold by Liverpool to Barcelona in a \u00a3142m deal in January 2018<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"sp-story-body__introduction\">Liverpool have announced a world record profit of \u00a3106m.<\/p>\n<p>In their yearly financial results, the Reds made an annual pre-tax profit of \u00a3125m &#8211; up from \u00a340m &#8211; as turnover increased in the 12 months to May 2018 by \u00a390m to \u00a3455m, also a record.<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool were boosted financially by a run to the Champions League final last season, which earned an estimated \u00a372m.<\/p>\n<p>They were also helped by midfielder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/42608692\">Philippe Coutinho&#8217;s \u00a3142m transfer to Barcelona<\/a> in January 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Leicester City had held the record for net (post-tax) profit of \u00a380m in 2016-17 (\u00a392m pre-tax) after reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Having topped the Premier League table for much of the season, Liverpool are vying with defending champions Manchester City for a first English top-flight title for 29 years, and that success has been mirrored off the pitch too.<\/p>\n<p>Media revenue has increased by \u00a366m to \u00a3220m, commercial revenue by \u00a317m to \u00a3154m and match revenue by \u00a37m to \u00a381m.<\/p>\n<p>In revenue terms, Liverpool will leapfrog Arsenal into third place in the Premier League, behind Manchester United and Manchester City. <\/p>\n<p>In total, \u00a3137m came into the club from player transfers. Liverpool say all of that has been reinvested back into the squad, taking outgoings on new players to more than \u00a3190m.<\/p>\n<p>Andy Hughes, the club&#8217;s chief operating officer, said: &#8220;What we have seen is a stable and sustained improvement in the club&#8217;s financial position over recent years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This growth and increase in revenue has enabled us to significantly reinvest both in the playing squad and the football operational infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Financial results do fluctuate depending on player trading costs and timing of payments, but what&#8217;s clear in these latest results is the further strengthening of our underlying financial footing and profits being reinvested in the squad and infrastructure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The club also say their social media platforms had a 14% growth rate, taking the total to over 60 million followers across digital channels, and that in May 2018 they had the highest viewing figures ever for a Premier League club, and third of any sports club globally.<\/p>\n<p>In January, Liverpool climbed two places to seventh in the latest edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/business-46970252\">the Deloitte Football Money League. <\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/47168032\">Source<\/a> by <a href=\"\">[author_name]<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Philippe Coutinho was sold by Liverpool to Barcelona in a \u00a3142m deal in January 2018 Liverpool have announced a world record profit of \u00a3106m.
