Energy company SSE and chemicals firm Ineos each have a 20% interest.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"story-body__crosshead\">&#8216;Prolific area&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>Mr Breuillac, Total&#8217;s president of exploration and production, said: &#8220;Glendronach is a significant discovery for Total which gives us access to additional gas resources in one of our core areas and validates our exploration strategy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Located on an emerging play of the prolific west of Shetland area, the discovery can be commercialised quickly and at low cost.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Greater Laggan area is about 125km (78 miles) north west of Shetland.<\/p>\n<p>SSE <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-scotland-scotland-business-33702575\" class=\"story-body__link\">bought its stake in 2015<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-scotland-scotland-business-45625287\">Source<\/a> by <a href=\"\">[author_name]<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Image copyright Total Energy company Total has announced a major gas discovery off Shetland.
